"The European Union supports the development of pomegranate cultivation in Azerbaijan".

Qazet.az report  that the representative of the European Union (EU) Office in Azerbaijan Viktor Boshkov said this at the opening of a mini-factory for the production of pomegranate juice in Muganli village of Kurdamir region.

According to him, the project involved 1500 people from 100 villages directly involved in pomegranate cultivation.

"Within the framework of the project, trainings were held for them to become more familiar with pomegranate cultivation. One of the priorities of the project is to ensure high quality and compliance of pomegranate juice production with the necessary standards. Pomegranate cultivation is an excellent opportunity to attract tourists, which will contribute to the development of the entire region", - V. Boshkov said.
