"Influenza is a disease that can be found in all age groups, and getting infected with it depends on a person's lifestyle. If the number of contacts is high, the probability of infection is also high."

Qazet.az reports that this was stated by Tayyar Eyvazov, specialist-expert of the Ministry of Health, doctor-infectious disease specialist.

According to him, the risk group includes children and the elderly, pregnant women, medical workers, personnel providing services in preschool educational institutions, as well as people with chronic diseases of internal organs and immunodeficiency, regardless of age:

Healthcare, education, public transport and public service workers are also at high risk of infection. In general, the complications of the flu are divided into two groups. The complications of the first group are directly related to the course of the flu. It includes hemorrhagic edema, meningitis, meningoencephalitis, toxic shock. The second group of complications and appears on the next 4-5 days of the disease and is usually associated with the addition of a bacterial infection. The most dangerous and frequent complication is pneumonia. Pneumonia can develop both initially and after viral infections of the upper respiratory tract. Secondary Bacterial infections (pneumococcal and staphylococcal) are the most common causes of pneumonia. Such pneumonia develops at the end of the first week of the disease - at the beginning of the second week."
