Qazet.az reports that the head of the Forestry Development Service, Khaliqverdi Huseynov, said this at the press conference on the results of 2022.

He said that there was a fire in 870 hectares of forest area last year.

"Fires were observed more often after August 15. Fires occurred mostly in Shabran, Guba, Gabala, Zagatala. According to preliminary estimates, nearly 40 hectares of forest fund were completely destroyed. In this regard, measures are being taken within the framework of the IDEA Public Union's "From Fire to Green" campaign. More than 12,000 saplings have already been planted on 35 hectares of the project.
