The Pentagon has accused Iran of shooting down an oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman
The US Central Military Command (Centcom) claimed this week that a tanker sailing under the Liberian flag off the coast of Oman was shot down by Iranian drones.

Qazet.az reports about this with reference to "Interfax".

"On November 15 at 22:00 local time in the Gulf of Oman, an Iranian-made drone attacked the Liberian-flagged Pacific Zircon tanker. This tanker belongs to a commercial structure linked to Israel," Centcom said in a statement.

"As a result of the research conducted on the wreckage, it was found that it is an attack drone belonging to the "Shahed" series. Although the ship was damaged, there were no casualties," the statement emphasized.

Eastern Pacific Shipping Company of Singapore, which owns the tanker and is headed by an Israeli businessman, announced that the damage was minimal.

In addition, fuel leakage is reported to be prevented.
