The President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Georgia got acquainted with the "Heritage of the Karabakh Khanate" exhibition
On October 24, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili got acquainted with the exhibition "Heritage of the Karabakh Khanate" in the Mukhrani palace (Château Mukhrani) in Mkheta district.
Qazet.az reports that the exhibition "Karabagh Khanate. Historical and cultural identity" book was presented.
It should be noted that the photos displayed in the exhibition are "Karabakh Khanate. It was prepared on the basis of artifacts selected from the book "Historical and cultural identity". Among them are the first known image of the flag belonging to the Karabakh Khanate, the shield of Shah Ismail preserved in the Karabakh Khanate dynasty, ancient carpets, decorative tiles of the Sardar Mosque and its facade, as well as images of the XIX century Shusha city, the facade of the Sardar Khan palace at the end of the XIX-early XX century, and photos depicting the interior view, a horse saddle from the 19th century, two tars and a three-stringed kamancha, portraits of Hasan Gulu Khan Qajar and Fatali Shah Qajar, authored by Mirza Gadim Iravani, are of special interest.
The head of the group of authors, Professor Eldar Nadiradze "Karabakh Khanate. In the book "Historical and cultural identity", pictures of more than 300 artifacts belonging to the Karabakh khanate, collected during the military and scientific expeditions carried out by Tsarist Russia in Karabakh in the 19th century and currently stored in the funds of the Georgian National Museum, were collected. After being handed over to the museum's archive, these artifacts were never opened for some reason and remained uncatalogued in the archive for more than 100 years.
This collection, cataloged in a publication that is an indicator of our very rare cultural heritage, will contribute to increasing international interest in the Karabakh Khanate, which is an integral part of Azerbaijan's history, and its rich cultural heritage.
