January futures on the TTF (the largest hub in Europe, located in the Netherlands) index started at $1,045.5 per 1,000 cubic meters (-2.4%). Later, the price of "blue fuel" dropped to $999.6 (-6.7%).

It should be recalled that yesterday the European Union countries agreed to set the maximum exchange price of natural gas. Its price will be 180 euros per 1 MWh, and this decision will come into effect on February 15.
