The US may introduce new measures against travelers from China
The US administration is considering new precautions for travelers from China to combat the spread of COVID-19.
Qazet.az reports that "Bloomberg" published information about this.
"US officials have said that the government is concerned about the sharp increase in cases of infection in China and has raised issues about the transparency of the country's information on the spread of the virus," the agency said.
According to Bloomberg's interlocutors, the US administration is considering implementing measures similar to Japan, which requires travelers from China to test negative, and Malaysia, which implements tracking and epidemic control, to prevent the spread of the disease.
Since 2020, Chinese officials have maintained a "zero tolerance" policy against COVID-19, which means imposing measures such as isolation and mandatory quarantine for those who have come into contact with infected people to limit the spread of the virus. However, in early December, the Chinese government lifted some of the restrictions adopted to prevent the spread of the virus, which led to a sharp increase in cases and deaths.
