There was a call to introduce Islamic banking in the Milli Majlis

"Today, many Muslim countries have financial institutions, including banks, working according to Islamic rules. Azerbaijan is not developing in this field."

Qazet.az reports that this was said by the member of the Milli Majlis, Jeyhun Mammadov, at the plenary session of the parliament held today.

"Our religious people take their money away due to the issue of interest and invest it in countries with Islamic banking. As a result, capital (investment) flows out of Azerbaijan," he said.
