The social network "Twitter" may be banned if it does not follow the rules of content moderation of the European Union (EU).

Qazet.az reports with reference to the foreign press that this was said by the European Commissioner for Internal Market Affairs, Thierry Breton.

According to him, the social network will be fined if it does not comply with the rules: "If this process continues, we can turn off the platform in Europe. No one should doubt that. If necessary, we will do it."

It should be recalled that during the meeting with the owner of Twitter, Elon Musk, the European Commissioner brought to his attention the need to refrain from aggressive disinformation and to undergo a large-scale independent audit of the platform next year. If the social network doesn't do this, it could face the risk of violating EU legislation in the field of digital services.
