Two Azerbaijani judokas advanced to the semi-finals

Two Azerbaijani judokas reached the semi-finals of the Baku Grand Slam tournament.

According to Qazet.az reports, Hidayat Heydarov, who competed in the 73 kg weight category, and Said Mollay, who competed in the 81 kg category, managed to advance to this round.

On the way to the finals, Heydarov will wrestle with Salvador Roca from Spain, and Mollayi with Attila Ungvari from Hungary.

Among the 73 kg athletes, Vusal Qalandarzade and Rustam Orujov lost in the 1/8 finals, and Telman Valiyev in the 1/16 finals.

In 81 kg, Elcan Hajiyev and Omar Rajabli lost in the 1/16 finals, and Zelim Tchkayev lost in the 1/8 finals.

In the women's competition, Aytaj Kardashkhanli will face Slovenia's Andreja Leski in the consolation match at 63 kg. Nargiz Hajiyeva of the same weight lost her first match.

In 70 kg, Sudaba Aghayeva and Gunel Hasanli also lost their medal chances.

Note that the tournament will end on November 6. On the first day of the competition, Balabey Agayev (60 kg) won gold, Karamat Huseynov (60 kg) and Orkhan Safarov (66 kg) won bronze medals.
