Two-time Olympic champion Ilgar Mammadov has been elected president of the Russian Fencing Federation

Two-time Olympic champion Ilgar Mammadov has been elected president of the Russian Fencing Federation (FFR).
Qazet.az informs that the 56-year-old specialist was the only candidate for the post. He replaced Aleksandr Mikhailov in the new post. Mikhailov led the FFR since 2009.
Ilgar Mammadov won gold medals at the 1988 and 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Seoul and Atlanta. The veteran foil fencer has been the head coach of the Russian national team since 2012.
