Volker Turk, the UN human rights chief, has visited Ukraine to hear accounts of deportation of children, tortured civilians and executed prisoners of war, Qazet.az reports.
The Ukrainian government has praised the move on twitter:
I congratulate the decision @volker_turk to visit 🇺🇦 after his appointment immediately to hear first-hand about deported 🇺🇦 children, tortured civilians, and executed prisoners of war.
