US and South Korea agree to jointly develop civil aircraft

The United States and South Korea have signed an agreement to jointly develop and operate advanced civil aircraft. This was reported on the website of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The FAA points out that a partnership with the Korea Civil Aviation Administration on aircraft development and flight safety has been entered into as part of an improvement in the air mobility system.

“Collaboration with international partners is critical to the integration of new technologies,” the statement said.

The parties agreed to expand the exchange of information on advanced aerial developments and jointly monitor safety in the implementation of such projects.

Earlier, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said during a briefing that the United States and South Korea are working out retaliatory options in case the DPRK decides to use nuclear weapons. At the same time, she stressed that the parties are not discussing joint nuclear exercises, since South Korea does not possess nuclear weapons.
