The United States is also considering military measures, in addition to economic ones, against Russia in the event of an escalation around Ukraine, Qazet.az informs that US Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield said this in an interview with the Moldovan television channel Jurnal TV.

The host recalled US President Jo Biden's threat of serious economic consequences for Russia in the event of an invasion of Ukraine and asked if "military countermeasures are also taken into account".

"Absolutely. We have indicated that we do not rule out anything in terms of our response," Thomas-Greenfield said.

At the same time, she recalled that Washington has been working with Kiev since 2014.

"We have provided them with almost $2.7 billion to support their military. Most recently, during Secretary Blinken's visit to Ukraine, we announced additional funding and will continue to provide equipment to the Ukrainians," she said.

The permanent representative stated that the United States, among other things, provides Ukraine with advisory support.
