Vahid Ahmadov: Why haven't we offered concessions to the ICT sector?
"When the technoparks started operating, we offered 7-year concessions. Why didn't we do it for the ICT sector, so that we are facing this situation now?"

According to Qazet.az reports, MP Vahid Ahmadov said this at the meeting of the Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship Committee of the Milli Majlis.

"Why have we come to this issue now? Other countries are better than us. It was mentioned here that there is a shortage of personnel. In addition, the products produced are not competitive. We are too late in these matters," he said.

According to the deputy, personnel are leaving the country and serious problems are emerging: "Furthermore, there are too few specialists in this field. I am also of the opinion that we should produce competitive products and export them abroad. These are serious issues. The purpose of the tax concession is to develop the export-oriented ICT sector. Will we be able to make significant progress after 5 years of adopting the new law? Or will there be a flow of people abroad again? I suggest that we send young people in this field to study abroad and make such a contract with them so that they come back again. Otherwise, we send them to study, then young people stay there because of the good living conditions and high wages."
