Weather to change drastically on January 8, snow, frost expected - WARNING
After several days of mild, warm weather in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, starting from January 8, the weather is expected to change, it will rain occasionally, and sleet and snow will fall in some places, Qazet.az reports according to the director of the Bureau of Hydrometeorological Forecasts of the Department of National Hydrometeorology, Gulshad Mammadova.
She noted that the northeast wind will occasionally strengthen in some parts of the peninsula from the evening of January 7 until January 8: “The air temperature will decrease by 10-12C compared to the previous days, and on January 10-11, it will be -2C at night and close to 0C during the day. Starting from the northern and western regions of Azerbaijan, from the evening of January 7 to the 12th, the weather in the country is expected to change, it will occasionally rain, sleet and snow will fall in some places, and it will intensify in several places.”
Mammadova said that the west wind will occasionally strengthen in some places: “The air temperature will decrease by 10-12 degrees compared to the previous days, it will be 0- -5C at night, up to +4C during the day, and -10-15C at night and -5-8C in the daytime. Due to the expected rainy and frosty weather conditions, there is a possibility of icy roads.”
